Aero's History
Aero Accessories, Inc. was predominantly an accessory overhauler
prior to beginning its parts manufacturing efforts in the early 1980's.
At that time there was a crippling lack of "factory" support
for overhaulers and maintenance shops. Many factories
wanted the overhaul market for themselves, so they would not supply
replacement parts, or if they did, the price was prohibitively high.
Simple parts, like contact points, couldn't be had.
The price of a $57.00 magneto magnet increased to $250.00 in a matter
of weeks. One of the "factories" which spoke to
a representative at Aero admitted frankly that they did not want
the industry to have the parts. They wanted the overhaul work
for themselves and wanted the independent overhaulers out, no bones
about it.
Aero's response was to become a FAA-certified manufacturer of the
needed parts, and supply them to other overhaulers.
We work hard to develop and build better quality products that are
assets to the industry and help keep the economics of aviation in
balance. Now the repair station side of our business
has diminished and our main efforts are focused on supplying and
supporting overhaulers and maintenance shops with top quality parts
at fair prices.
